Bonjour love,
Okay, time for me to address the elephant in the room: why did I stop posting healing recipes on Instagram?
The short answer is depletion and burnout, quite simply. But the longer answer is that I didn’t want to be known as “the Ayurveda girl” for the rest of my career.
I love Ayurveda, and I still practice almost everything I taught on my page. I probably will for the rest of my life because those principles have become deeply ingrained in me after spending the last decade studying Eastern holistic medicine and philosophy. I may even teach some of it again one day.
But my deepest obsession has always been something else.
I’ve always been fascinated by what makes a woman feel more alive, more herself.
Again and again, I found myself drawn into archives, traditions, and cultures, searching for the rituals, philosophies, and ways of living that have helped women flourish throughout history. Ayurveda and other Eastern healing traditions simply became one chapter in that lifelong search.
Over the last two years, that curiosity led me somewhere entirely different.
I became consumed with studying what has, for centuries, occupied women’s inner lives: love and relationships. Pleasure and desire. Beauty and adornment. And the relationship she has with herself and her own body.
I found myself endlessly fascinated by the way the French and Italians express romance through everyday life; their gastronomy, their love of wine, perfume, lingerie, literature, beautiful restaurants, long dinners, and the rituals that make ordinary evenings feel extraordinary. Alongside that, I continued studying Tantra and the more intimate dimensions of pleasure and what desire does to a woman’s body.
I had no idea what would emerge from those two years.
But I always knew I wanted my work to feel lighter, more joyful, more beautiful, more romantic.
Less cleansing. More nourishment.
For that, I want to thank you. Thank you for being so patient while I searched for the words to describe this new chapter, and while all the scattered pieces slowly came together into something that finally felt whole.
Today, I’m incredibly happy to officially welcome you to SABRINA: a love, sex, and relationships magazine that has quietly been taking shape over the last year.
You’ll still find food here.
But now, food is part of a much bigger story.
You’ll find romantic dinner recipes, essays on love and relationships, beauty, fashion, elegant places to escape to, and everything else that explores the same question from a different angle:
How does a woman become fully alive again?
How does she fall back in love with life?
How does she reconnect with herself?
It turns out those questions can be explored just as beautifully through a dinner for two as they can through an essay.
So, without further ado, I’d love to begin this new chapter with a recipe that my husband and I have made so many times this summer that we still crave it after every date night at home:
Homemade smoked salmon pizzas.
I hope you love them as much as we do.
